So it is offical, Girl Scouts can raise money in this time of need. They have even established an online donation Girl Scouts of Japan Relief Efforts through which Elisabeth’s pennies will be donated when she is done collecting.
Another suggestion on the site is sending expressions of friendship by making origami paper cranes to send overseas. “The Girl Scouts of Japan made and mailed thousands of these cranes to the United States as an expression of peace and friendship after the September 11th tragedy,” the site states. This is something that anyone can do, so please feel free to share this with your kids
